Parent Onboarding Guide · Before you begin
Setting your child up for a wonderful learning journey
Set up the right environment, routines and mindset at home, so your child walks into their first session ready, settled and excited.
Section 01
What to set up before the start
Three things to have in place before the first session.
A laptop or desktop is required. Tablets and Chromebooks aren't suitable. Working camera & mic; headphones recommended.
- Windows: Intel Core i5 12th Gen+, 16 GB RAM+, Windows 11.
- Mac: Apple M2 chip+, macOS 12+ (16 GB RAM recommended).
A stable, good-speed connection all day. Use a mesh router or ethernet if Wi-Fi is weak, and a router UPS to ride out short power cuts.
A fixed, clutter-free spot that's theirs in school hours, away from the TV and siblings, no extra devices at the desk. The family treats 9:30 am–2:30 pm as school time.
Section 02
How the school day works
Sessions run Monday–Friday, 9:30 am – 2:30 pm IST.
| Time | Block | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 9:30–10:00 | Opening Circle | Check-in, warm-up and starting the day with high energy. |
| 10:00–12:00 | Project Work | Deep collaborative work on ongoing projects, with Pomodoro breaks built in. |
| 12:00–12:30 | Lunch Break | A full 30 minutes away from the screen. Please have lunch ready and accessible. |
| 12:30–2:30 | Deep Work | Focused individual or group work to close out the day. |
A few times a month, 2:30–3:30 pm. Please keep that slot free of other activities.
Basketball, football, swimming, dance, a few times a week, for health and wellbeing.
Robotics, chess, singing, art, languages, ideal for weekends. A balanced week.
Section 03
What to have ready before sessions start
Support schedules a 15–20 min check before the start date, account set-up, camera/mic, and a test login.
Virtual ice-breakers, a coach 1:1 with each student, and a brief parent-coach intro before classes start.
5 days, 11–22 June 2026, the first in-person meeting with the batch and coach, to form real bonds.
Shipped to your address before the session. Best to open them when the coach recommends. Don't lose any parts! :)
| 1 | Open Google Chrome on your child's laptop (Chrome is required). |
| 2 | Sign in to your child's new Google account using the StayQrious student credentials (shared before the first session). |
| 3 | Enter https://stayq.us in the address bar. |
| 4 | Click Sign in using Google and select the student's school email. |
| 5 | Allow Camera & Microphone access when prompted. You're in! |
Section 04
How you can support your child
Talk about the start with excitement and confidence, your energy sets theirs. Avoid showing any anxiety in front of your child.
Don't sit beside your child. No extra devices at the desk, household noise minimal, and the whole family respects 9:30–2:30 as class time.
Let them decompress before debriefing. We strongly recommend not adding other academic tuition, a different method adds cognitive load.
Section 05
Staying connected
Clear, direct communication. Here's how to reach us.
Message your coach (they may be in class during session hours).
Our support team will jump in.
Email anytime, a direct line to the Founders.
